Amherst Cadets Discuss Aircraft Safety for Safety Stand-Down Day
During the Brig. Gen. Arthur J. Pierce Squadron's annual safety stand-down day in March, adult member 2nd Lt. Ryan Bishop, from the Westover Squadron, met with Pierce cadets in Amherst, Mass., to talk aircraft and airfield safety, as well as running through a pre-flight inspection.
Each year, Civil Air Patrol requires all squadrons to host a safety stand-down day. As a public service organization responsible for carrying out emergency services and disaster relief missions nationwide, squadrons must meet the demands of readiness and reliability, which includes the health and wellbeing of our members and the maintenance of our equipment and facilities. Our safety culture - the collective values, beliefs, and attitudes of our members – is critical to our success.
